Living Room Design

This space had to feel comfortable and stylish as its the main area where friends and family gather to hangout and relax together. Traditional elements mixed with modern was the look we wanted to achieve, it needed to relate to the rest of the house. The fireplace was re-faced in porcelain tile that resembled marble, the custom millwork under each window added additional storage and helped hide electronics. They also allowed my client to display her collection of keep-sakes and family photos, something that was important to her. To take attention away from the strong ceiling angles in the room I added board and batten to two adjacent walls which also helped create symmetry. Some other upgrades included the staircase which got a reface and new railing as well engineered hardwood was installed throughout.
